This series premiered on UPN 6 in the Central New York region and was an instant hit. After airing only the first 5 episodes we received over 5,000 emails and calls from fans who loved the show and those across the country who wanted to see it. The shows web site has had a record amount of traffic and the demand for the DVD and download of the series has been overwhelming.

Journey of Courage: A North Side Story Documentary
This bold and startling film originates in Syracuse, NY but has a worldwide impact. Based on the best selling novel “North Side Story,” this documentary shows the intricate relationship between friendship, struggle, survival, adaptation, revitalization and community. It is a is a unique and personal look at the emotional journey that author Frank W. Pandozzi embarked on in order to write his novel. The reach of this film is wide, delving into the not only the true history and creation of this novel but also the fictional stories and characters featured in the book. The film also focuses on the overwhelming transition of the community past, present and future as well as the impact that Vietnam War and the boatpeople had on the North Side of Syracuse.

Through striking interviews and narration Frank takes us through the culture of determination and pride. The film parallels the struggles of the 1950’s and 60’s immigrants of the north side, to the present day Vietnamese “boatpeople” the have begun the revitalization of the area. The true message that emerges in the candid words and true emotions of the author is that this “North Side Story” is everyone’s story. The stories, people and feelings are universally recognizable regardless of where you live or when. It is a familiar story with unique characters told with humor, passion and honesty. Through interviews, old photos and film, present day landmarks, re-enactments and present day documentation we delve closer to finding out what this story is really all about and why everyone should care.
